Breana D. Johnson is a 4th year dissertation student in the Depth Psychology, Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Eco-psychologies program. Ms. Johnson currently practices as a licensed Marriage and Family Psychotherapist in New York City and works to address stigma in the mental wellness field. She is the editor of “Statement,” a feature by CLIE Students of Color in Hearing Voices, and co-editor for the Spring 2019 special issue of The Community Psychologist, which focused on decoloniality and positionality. Ms. Johnson also received Pacifica Graduate Institute’s Chancellor’s Award for Community in Spring, 2019 for her fieldwork with black female youth in the arts. Ms. Johnson continues to expand her work in youth development and is interested in developing community wellness programming for marginalized groups.
