Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association Website
Within the PGIAA online presence are areas that support the Institute’s mission of education and research. Also found within the PGIAA online presence are areas generated by groups or individuals whose expressed views, content, references or links to other sites do not necessarily represent the views of the PGIAA, such as personal profiles of students, faculty, and staff. The PGIAA does not endorse, warrant, or otherwise take responsibility for the contents of such areas or linked sites or of any material accessible from them. Individuals operating such sites are responsible for posting disclaimers when required by Pacifica Graduate Institute policy or law. The PGIAA does not actively monitor or control Web content. The PGIAA website may contain links to non-Institute (“third party”) sites. The PGIAA is not responsible for and does not control the content of linked third party Sites. The inclusion of any link does not imply Institute endorsement of the site, entity, products or services. Checking the privacy statement of any third party site is recommended.

Privacy
Generally, the PGIAA website collects information to improve site or individual web page content, to monitor performance, and to improve functionality. The PGIAA website is charged with complying with all applicable laws and Institute regulations governing personal privacy and confidentiality of information. Information that doesn’t fall under established legal protections is subject to public disclosure under law.

Access and Use of Services
Abuse or misuse of access or services, including the unauthorized access or disclosure of personally identifiable information, is a violation of Institute policy and may constitute violations of law. Violations of law or Institute policy by Institute employees or students may result in prosecution, restriction of access to Institute electronic resources, and/or disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or suspension or expulsion from the Institute, as determined by due process. Violations of law or these terms of use by the public may result in prosecution. As a condition of your access and use of services, you agree that you will: 1) not use the services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by Institute policy or these terms of use; 2) not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any services, information, computer systems or networks connected to any Institute server or to any Institute services; 3) not use the services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any server or network(s), or interfere with any other party’s use and enjoyment of any services.

Restrictions on Use of Materials
All Pacifica Graduate Institute and Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association trademarks, service marks, and trade names are the property of Pacifica Graduate Institute. The Institute seal, names, initials, images, logos, and related trademarks are not to be used by third parties without prior written permission. To seek permission, contact Pacifica Director of Alumni Relations Dianne Travis-Teague at dtravis-teague@pacifica.edu. Other materials accessible within the PGIAA online presence may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way without explicit permission. One exception to this proviso is permitted: given user may download one copy of the materials on any single computer, only for personal, non-commercial home use, provided all copyright and other proprietary notices are kept intact. Modification or use of the materials for any other purpose may be a violation of copyright and other proprietary rights.

Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the PGIAA must specify an agent to receive notices of infringement from an owner alleging that the PGIAA website is infringing its copyright. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permissible, under applicable law, the PGIAA shall not be liable for any special or consequential damages that result from the use of or the inability to use the materials on the PGIAA website. PGIAA Website Privacy Policy
The pgiaa.org website collects and aggregates activity data — including information on domains, browsers, operating systems, and pages accessed — only to better understand general site usage patterns, improve site usability, and expand services toward better serving the needs and interests members and visitors. No device or monitor attempts to track individuals or preserve access information relating to identified users beyond registration, membership, and contribution data provided by users or on behalf of subjects presented in various forms of articles and images.

Pacifica Graduate Institute maintains a campus database of enrollment name, address, phone number, email, program, and year of graduation to facilitate outreach. The Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association may use this information for the development of notifications or invitation lists to Institute- and Association-oriented programs and events. Those wishing their information exempted from such purposes may notify Pacifica Director of Alumni Relations Dianne Travis-Teague at dtravis-teague@pacifica.edu.

Please note that the PGIAA will never sell or otherwise disclose personal information such as academic records, registration information, personal contact information, etc., to any outside organizations, companies, agencies, or individuals.

PGIAA Directories, Profile Pages, and User Information

The PGIAA website includes, among other services, an alumni search tool. The PGIAA Registered Members Directory and Alumni Directory makes available limited information about alumni to other alumni through this search tool. This tool, among other services and personal and community information in such areas as the Alumni Resources section of the website are accessible only by registered users from among the validated and acknowledged Association membership. At any time, users may change, alter, restrict, expand, or delete personal information within the Alumni Directory, their personal Profile Page, and other areas of the website.

From time to time, users may receive PGIAA electronic email newsletters and announcements. At any time, any user may request and receive removal from mailing lists, as indicated in footer messages within such electronic communications.
