PGIAA is Urgently Seeking Counseling Support for our First Responders, Alumni, and Community.
Many times alumni write or phone in asking how they can be of help to our community. Our community needs counseling support, and we need you!
Following the recent natural disasters affecting our area and alumni around the world, we at the Alumni Association became highly aware of the intense emotional, physical, and psychological stresses that First Responders suffer, in addition to the suffering of victims and communities as whole systems.
We have created a PGIAA Support Network for First Responders, Alumni, and the community.
This is a referral network of people (faculty, alumni, and professionals in the community) who are willing to take calls from others experiencing a need for support.
Part of this Support Network is our CareLine at 805-679-6163.
This number can be used by any First Responder, Alumna/Alumnus, or community member, to reach out and seek a friendly voice, or find counseling support.
If you have experience in Trauma Counseling, and can take phone calls, or if you can come to Santa Barbara and provide some on-site counseling or train with some of our faculty in trauma counseling, please contact Dianne Travis-Teague at the Office of Alumni Relations 805-879-7303.
