Calling all Pacifica Alums!

Since our region is HUGE, and there are so many interesting alums scattered around doing such interesting things, we are looking for Local Coordinators in our region.
If you live in:

  • Connecticut
  • New Jersey
  • Buffalo/Upstate region
  • Westchester/Rockland

We need you!

As a Local Coordinator, you would be able to contact the alums living in your local area and plan events and get-togethers. My hope is that once a year, we may be able to have an all-region event, but since we are up to 5 or 6 hours apart from one another, doing so on a regular basis isn’t viable.
Every month, you would send me your event info and news so that I can post it on the PGIAA website, as well as our newsletter. I would also be your point person with the Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association.

Please email me at millernk@yahoo.com if you would be interested in being a Local Coordinator for your area!

Warmest wishes,
Nicole K. Miller, PhD
PGIAA Regional Coordinator for NY/NJ/CT

The Creative Self: Secrets, Dreams and Wishes
Speaker: Fanny Brewster, Ph.D.

“To be that which you are is the bath of rebirth. In the depths, being is not an unconditional persistence but an endlessly slow growth. You think you are standing still like swamp water, but slowly you flow into the sea that covers the earth’s greatest deeps, and is so vast that firm land seems only an island imbedded in the womb of the immeasurable sea.”
C.G. Jung
The Red Book, Liber Secundus
When Jung first experiences his Anima, who declares that his fantasy/writing is Art, he denies this, insisting rather that it is nature, science. How often do we deny the ways in which we experience the “endlessly slow growth” of the Creative Self? How often do we say, I wish I were creative? How can we discover and recognize this deepest aspect of ourselves?
Let us explore how our secrets, dreams and wishes, when given over to the Creative Self, can free us to live more authentic, rich lives, expressing the endless possibilities of being and becoming more creative.
Fanny Brewster PhD, MFA, is a Jungian analyst and writer in private practice in New York City. She is a faculty member at the C.G. Jung Foundation and Pacifica Graduate Institute. She has received two Gradiva Award Nominations for Nonfiction Writing from the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis and is currently teaching “Re-collecting ourselves through Memoir” at the C.G. Jung Foundation.
