As a business professional, scholar, and depth psychotherapist, Dr. Kathleen A. Barry is an unusual hybrid. She began her career as an Executive Assistant, designing management and leadership programs, as well as developing strategies for conflict resolution and change management.
After 10 years in the corporate world and an MBA, her interest in psychology drew her to two additional Masters Degrees and a PhD. She has been a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California for close to 20 years and specializes in working with individuals, particularly women, at the crossroads of major life transitions.
From management positions at Fortune 500 corporations; Chair of Strategic Planning for a southern California Family Resources Center; President of the Santa Barbara Chapter for Marriage and Family Therapists, and President of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the Association for Women in Communications, Dr. Barry has enjoyed a variety of leadership roles. She has served on the board of Opus Archives and Research Center and is a frequent contributor to the Soroptomist International of Santa Barbara newsletter, “Soundings.”
