Are you emotionally unsheltered and displaced?
Intercultural Psychology is offering a free online workshop Unsheltered-And-Displaced, to support expats, immigrants, refugees and biculturals across the COVID-19 pandemic.
– Free Single Event (In English): Sunday April 12, 2020 from 3:00pm – 4:15pm (PST),
Are you feeling lonely, anxious and depressed in times of isolation and uncertainty? Are you feeling emotionally unsheltered and displaced?
This workshop will explore ways in which you can build a sense of safety, and feel psychologically sheltered.
Here are some issues that you might be going through:
-
Are you homesick and feeling powerless because your family “back home” is vulnerable, and you are not there to support them, nor are they here to support you?
-
Are you reliving the pos-migratory experience of multiple losses?
-
Do you fear that you might loose your elderly parents, even before you have a chance to visit them again?
-
Do you feel “stuck”, frustrated, and anxious?
-
Are you experiencing anger, sadness, hopelessness, confusion, and a deep feeling of not belonging, or of being in-between-worlds?
If you feel that you do not belong, it’s difficult to “feel at home”. If your heart is split between two worlds it’s hard to feel present. During challenging times, by being present, you will find the strength and resources that you need.
We would like to help you get through these challenging times. This support group will explore ways in which you can build a sense of safety and feel more psychologically sheltered.
