2019 MA Counseling Psychology

Janiece Anjali (M.A. in Counseling Psychology 2019) is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in the Pacific Northwest. She holds a M.Ed. with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington. A former elementary public-school teacher, she is also the author of Illusions of More: A Story out of Shadow. In this novel, Janiece reveals how collective and conflicting forces thwart and punish teachers who nurture caring learning communities in which disenfranchised and traumatized children can reveal what they know. Illusions of More shows how the pressures within and upon the institution of American public education have opened portals to the archetypal that are horrifying and points toward where we might find redemption. In her work with adult writers and groups, Janiece continues to explore the promise and pitfalls of inviting and interacting with the imaginal in community.
