Dear Pacifica Alumni,
We continue to focus our thoughts and prayers with our neighbors, our community in Montecito as the search and rescue efforts continue and want to offer times for our Staff and Faculty to come together. Today at 5:00 p.m. (PDT), we encourage you to join our “Vigil for Montecito) by offering a moment of silence from wherever you may be.
We have experienced a devastating and traumatic event in our community. The pain felt by the loss of lives due to Tuesday morning’s flood event in Montecito has been felt far and wide. It’s agonizing to hear their stories and see the images of devastation in a community that has been the symbol of Santa Barbara’s beauty for so long. We will get through this and we will rebuild. First, we come together as a community in love and support.
Join Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors Chair Joan Hartmann, First District Supervisor Das Williams, Santa Barbara Mayor Cathy Murillo, Santa Barbara District Four Council Member Kristen Sneddon, Assemblymember Monique Limón, State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson, and Congressmember Salud Carbajal for a vigil for Montecito. Members of the faith community will also be present and counseling services will be provided by our Santa Barbara County Emergency Operations Center and Hospice of Santa Barbara.
