Please join our celebration and recognition of International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8. We will gather in the Board Room on Ladera Lane at 1:30pm. Faculty and staff are invited to offer short vignettes of their work and/or poetry readings.

“Balance for Good” is the 2019 International Women’s Day theme – and we did just that.  Our earlier announced speaker was forced to withdraw late today, but two of our alumnae responded with warp speed, and we are pleased to share these updated details with you.

Together with Alumni Relations and Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association (PGIAA), we are happy to announce that our guest of honor will be Alexis Slutzky (2004 MA Counseling Psychology), and our special guest will be Stacy Zumbroegel(2004 MA Counseling Psychology).

Alexis Slutzky, MFT is a mentor, educator, guide, and facilitator whose work focuses on cultural restoration through council, dream work, nature connection, grief tending, community ritual, and rites of passage. Alexis is a council trainer, holds a Master’s Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and is adjunct faculty at Antioch University. She offers groups, trainings, and one-on-one mentoring out of her private practice, Wild Belonging, and in affiliation with other organizations.

Stacy Zumbroegel, MA Counseling will also join us for this very special day. For many years Stacy’s specialty has been working with young women who suffer from trauma and loss. Recently returned home to Santa Barbara, she runs a social business in textiles, working to empower weavers, and offers counseling trainings to nuns and laypeople through a Myanmar NGO.

As stated on the United Nations website, “International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.” We look forward to being together in community on this day.
