PGIAA-OC presents mystical poet, peace advocate, professor of Political Science (Gov’t and Politics of the Middle East) CSU-Dominguez Hills, and Mythological Studies Islamic Studies), Pacifica’s Dr. Stanizai at Golden West College
Zaman S. Stanizai, Ph.D. holds a doctorate in Political Science from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
As a published poet, Dr. Stanizai has translated the works of Rumi, Hafiz, and Rahman Baba whose classical style he emulates in his Pashto and Dari Persian verse. In his peace advocacy, Dr. Stanizai addresses the prevalence of the archetypal warrior culture and pursues a pacifist stream of consciousness.
