Community Reception for Queen of the Coast Art Exhibit Jan. 22

Free event at Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center

The community is invited to attend a free reception for the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center’s Queen of the Coast art exhibit, 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, outdoors in the Koch Courtyard, 865 Linden Ave. The event will include a meet-and-greet with the exhibit artists, live music from the Wrinkled Teenagers, No Host Beer & Wine Bar and Charcuterie Cones from Carp Kitchen.

The Queen of the Coast art exhibit is held this year in collaboration with the 40th year of the Rincon Classic, featuring artists from the Carpinteria, Rincon area, Santa Barbara and Ventura. The exhibit is a celebration of all things related to Rincon, the Pacific Coast, and the surf culture of Southern California.

“We are excited to celebrate this exceptional exhibit with our community,” said Linda Rosso, executive director of the Carpinteria Arts Center. “We have made great strides in the last 20 years and are thrilled to offer a state-of-the-art venue to showcase our extraordinary artists.”

The gallery will be open noon-4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday; the exhibit runs through Feb. 20. Entry is free.

Exhibition sponsor is Rincon Designs and community sponsors are Esau’s Cafe and Pacifica Graduate Institute.
