I Am Grateful

To say the words
I am grateful
Is an opening into my heart
Gratitude reveals acceptance
Like lotus petals
Slowly
One at a time
Unfolding
Gratitude is so much greater than appreciating gifts
In gratitude I surrender all expectations
With gratitude I forgive myself for not knowing
And for misunderstanding
With compassion
I let go of judgment
My hand reaches out
To tenderly hold yours
Gratitude is so much more than
Being
Thankful
For your presence
I am grateful
Carries meaning from the depth of my heart
and out into the world
Grateful of heart
Grateful of soul
Counting blessings
One after the other
I cry out in gratitude
Accepting all that is
And expecting nothing
I am grateful
Trusting this moment
Receiving and giving
