Symbolic Art of the Kabbalah Showcase by Joel Sloane
November 1st to January 31st
Philadelphia
My art has evolved over the past decade through my participation at the Whitemarsh Art Center in Lafayette Hill, PA, graduate studies in the field of depth psychology and studying the Kabbalah. Within Judaism and all religous traditions are inner mystical teachings which combine sacred texts with the wisdom of living teachers. The interpretive works comprise an oral tradition which remains mostly hidden from the public, in a state akin to dream forms. There they abide, awaiting the opportunity to awaken within the conscious minds of interested students. The joy of revelation occurs through the senses of the eyes and ears, permeating our world with insight and understanding.
In recent years I have developed digital artwork based on spiritual symbols and ideas found in Judaism and other world traditions. My work is a blending of universal paths, drawing on archetypes and natural forms as an expression of beauty and peace. I recently graduated with a master’s degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute located in Santa Barbara, California, studying Depth Psychology.
I encourage people to take time to develop their artistic talents through art education. Personal creativity and self-expression can be seen as one of the highest human capacities. A personal connection with the arts can be a gateway to Wholeness, Higher Consciousness, Creation and God.
