2024 Abakanowicz Fellowship Application Information

The Abakanowicz Arts and Culture Charitable Foundation (AACCF), in collaboration with the Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association, is pleased to announce this year’s  Abakanowicz Community and Ecological Fieldwork and Research Fellowship.

Application for the grant will be extended to 1st- and 2nd-year fieldwork students in good standing within the Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Eco-Psychologies M.A./Ph.D. specialization at Pacifica Graduate Institute. The fellowship offers between $1,000 and $4,250 to accepted applicants. Applicants must submit a brief essay outlining the relevance of their fieldwork and research to the mission of the Abakanowicz Arts and Cultural Charitable Foundation (see Selection Criteria) and agree to submit a short report at the end of the fellowship period (Winter 2024). Applicants are encouraged to engage in research about Magdalena Abakanowicz’s life and art.

in the Office of Alumni Relations by June 30, 2024

About the Abakanowicz Foundation Arts & Culture Grant
The Abakanowicz Arts and Culture Charitable Foundation (AACCF or the Foundation) was founded in 2018 and is comprised of a European financial board with an American artistic committee with the mission to: 1) pursue the aim of understanding and promoting, under any shape or form, the art world and legacy of Magdalena Abakanowicz, and; 2) fund programs that investigate concepts of human creativity, the role of art as a visual language within cultures and dynamic force within contemporary society, and the intersection of art and other modes of inquiry for the purposes of extending the meaning and relevance of Magdalena Abakanowicz’s art and its underlying ideas.
