Dear Pacifica Alumni and Friends:
No doubt you have seen and read about the devastation resulting from the unprecedented rain and mudslides on Tuesday, January 9th. We are still in stunned disbelief, greatly pained by the suffering of our neighbors and community.
Our campuses remain under a Mandatory Evacuation order. We ask that you do not attempt to come to the Lambert Lane or Ladera Road Campus until further notice.
Currently, we have continued to host students and guests (only those who were already present at the time of the storms and flash flooding) in the Carpinteria area, away from our campuses, having located alternative classroom spaces, food and lodging.
We are continuing a daily assessment of our contingency plans, including discussions for upcoming programs. We will keep you informed with additional updates as the situation evolves and operations resume.
All official campus e-mail communication and electronic systems remain up and running at this time.
We appreciate your support, patience and understanding during this this time of great sadness in our community.
