Being and Necessity: The Aesthetic Way of Life
Being is a word found in depth psychology texts that suggests an inner life has been summoned or longed for. That longing is a gesture to integrate the challenge that comes from learning and development. For Jungian Analysis the understanding of this is essential for meaning to register. The encounter with events and emotion is an aesthetic experience. The objects for this are both outer and inner. We are mostly familiar with the issues around the encounter of shadow projections that suggests the aesthetic at hand is to be worried over. This is initial work. The integration of the human response to human tension is made alchemical as a process when aesthetics touch the heart. There is a necessity for moving beyond initial work to the play and possible joy that comes from judgment.
Dr. Gossett is a Jungian Analyst practicing in Seattle. He has worked for many years first as an Anglican Spiritual Director and then as a psychotherapist. His PhD is from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology where his research led him to autobiography, soul making, and spiritual insight. His analytic diploma is from the C.G. Jung Institute, Zurich.

Pluto, Uranus, and Jupiter: The Astrological Signature of Our Times
Astrology is a powerful tool that describes how the archetypes are at work in each and every one of us as well as in the collective. The planets of our solar system each represent a particular archetype, and when those planets are in certain configurations with one another, those archetypes step forward in ourselves, our lives, and the world as a whole. We will take a quick look at some of the major planetary configurations of 2017 and what they say about the challenging times we are a part of, as well as what they say about the possibilities for growth and awakening in ourselves.
Joshua is a counselor and astrologer holding degrees in clinical social work and cultural anthropology. He spends his free time having as much fun as possible for a man with Saturn ruling in his chart. Enchanted by the great oceans, skies, forests, and mountains of the Pacific Northwest, Joshua happily calls the spectacular city of Seattle his home.
