BOOK PROJECT — CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
WORKING TITLE: PACIFICA GRADUATE INSTITUTE: CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF TENDING THE SOUL IN AND OF THE WORLD

SUMMARY: A book to be released for the major conference to be held upon the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Pacifica in April, 2016, celebrating an education for individuation and soul-making. A tribute, a toast, a homage by current alums, a gathering of stories commemorating the spirit and soul of the place.
WHAT TO SUBMIT: Coming to Pacifica stories—dreams and synchronicities that led you there, the “how’d you find out about Pacifica?” stories. Stories of the journey through your education. Transformation tales. Favorite memories. Poetry about Pacifica. Black and white photographs and artwork that capture the spirit of the place. Toasts and roasts. Memories, dreams, reflections. Short stories, creative non-fiction, anecdotal sketches.
WHAT NOT TO SUBMIT: Academic papers, self-aggrandizing or self advertising pieces, anything that violates the privacy and dignity of another or the spirit of tribute and celebration.
TONE: Personal, reflective, humble, humorous, respectful.
LENGTH: Anywhere from a few sentences to 1500 words (6ish pages double spaced).

SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND PROJECT DUE DATES:
Submissions will be evaluated January 23, 2016. Revisions and edits will take place in February, with a late March publication date.
CONTRACT TERMS: Contributors will retain copyrights for their pieces and may distribute or publish them elsewhere, including their own websites. Brief bios of all contributors can contain links to personal and professional websites.
